“We found that inca SmartProbe enabled us to dig deep into the reasons why a certain evaluation was given. By using SmartProbe as a follow-up open-ended question, we gathered insights that we wouldn’t have been able to obtain from the initial open-ended question.

Specifically, we found many comments indicating that the packaging could be improved. SmartProbe helped us pinpoint that this was driven by the fact that consumers considered this type of packaging for two very different occasions. On the one hand, there was the at-home occasion — which meant the existing pouch could be used as-is, but would need to include more cookies and be made resealable. On the other hand, there was the on-the-go occasion, which meant the existing pouch would need to contain individual servings.

We also found that the number of words typed by consumers in response to SmartProbe was twice as high as in the original open-ended question.
